Eyes Down… Look In as we do more work in the local community

As an independent business which is committed to helping improve the communities in which it operates in, Clear Sky Recruitment recently brought a smile to the faces of the pensioners who attend their weekly luncheon club gathering at the Cartref Community Hall in Bargoed, South Wales.

Clear Sky Recruitment Director, Claire Porter, kindly takes time out of her busy schedule to help to serve hot meals and drinks to the pensioners each week at the luncheon club. When Claire noticed that the Bingo machine the group was using every week was older than she was (which is quite old), we took it upon ourselves to purchase and donate a brand new, state of the art Bingo machine for this lovely group of people.

The weekly luncheon club at Cartref Community is run and funded by a small group of kind-hearted individuals who serve a two-course lunch and refreshments to a group of local pensioners, the vast majority of whom now live alone. Attendees also enjoy bingo and a weekly raffle. Very friendly atmosphere and new people are always welcomed.

Councillor Diane Price, who is the current Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough Council and is responsible for the luncheon club for the pensioners, said “We are all very grateful for the support of Clear Sky Recruitment and the new bingo machine has gone down a treat with the luncheon club attendees. We also enjoy having Claire here every week with us to help out.”

The luncheon club takes plave every Tuesday and they also meet on a Friday morning for an arts and craft session. Activities include knitting, sewing and crochet. Members also make items to sell to raise funds for the centre.
